When this album came out in the mid 1990's I adored it... It was the best thing I'd heard in years... I seen his band 'Invaders Of The Heart' headline 'WOMAD' as well as playing a storming gig in Glasgow. Both around the time of the albums release... Over a decade later - it is still an inspirational album.. In some ways a career pinnacle for Jah Wobble. A successful album for a major label 'Island'.. Although his albums are never less than wonderful, and several have bettereed 'Take Me To God' - it definately was the most realised album in a commercial sense. Each of the 15 tracks cover most stlyes and genres. Effortlessly jumping from Dub Reggae to Latino Jazz... Using a variety of singers was also a wise move, as it gave each stlye it's own reality... My fav tracks were (and still are) - Becoming More Like God' (stunning in every sense of the word), 'Amor'and 'Amor Dub' (very sexy), The Sun Does Rise'- and 'Forever'.... I would (and have) recommended this album to many over the years... Such a worthwhile listening experience...++++++++++++Vollständige Rezension lesen
multi ethnic , multi layered, with all the reggae dub motifs chucked in, sometimes atmospheric but with some dodgy vocals. similar feel to afro carribean sound system but not as good.
