Product Information

In Van Helsing, players travel to a familiar, 19th century fantasy land, on a mission to seek out and slay the most celebrated monstrosities the modern world has ever imagined. Though inspired by the obsessive vampire hunter in Bram Stoker's original Dracula novel, the Van Helsing character featured here is modeled on the hero of Universal Studios' contemporarily released feature film of the same name. The game loosely follows the plot of the movie, as Dr. Abraham Van Helsing ventures through an amalgamated, horror-story realm where iconic monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, and the Wolfman all wait their turn challenge him.<br><br>In addition to these infamous enemies, Van Helsing will also face lesser-known foes as he makes his way through the game's missions, including the doting toady Igor, the volatile Jekyll and Hyde, and scores of less distinct bad guys and beasties. To help even the odds, the hero can obtain and equip as many as nine different weapons, including spinning "tojo" blades and dual pistols. Van Helsing can also use a grappling hook, not only as a weapon but to solve in-game puzzles and gain access to new areas. The fighting system in Van Helsing as been compared to that of Devil May Cry, featuring complex combination moves and dramatic killing blows, and often displaying the action from the set camera angles of a survival-horror-like environment.

    van helsing

    i do love this game mostly because im an obsessed van of the vanhelsing moive. There are some things about this game i dont like. The graphics are a bit sektchy. Considering the type of graphics ive seen avablible for the PS2 i know for a fact they could have done a LOT better with the graphics. Also you cant choose when you want to save your game and they dont alow you to be able to freely by the supplies you need for battles. They only allow you to buy the stuff at the end of every mission and you cant hold mor then 3 life replenishers which REALLY sucks when your stuck with a hard boss. But on a brighter note the game is good because the original moive voices play for most the main characters so it doesnt sound wierd throughout the whole game,the cheat gylphs provide a fair mount of ...

    VAN HELSING, is one of the best hack n slash games in my opinion...

    VAN HELSING, is a great game I would recommend to anyone, but there were a few problems (lousy aiming), and other control issues as well that keep this from receiving the highest rating...
