Product Information

Fable III is an action-oriented role-playing game of classic swords and sorcery, designed around a deep and encompassing system of character development. Player decisions constantly influence the advancement of the character's magic and combat abilities, as well as the development of personality traits and social qualities. In addition to earning gold and experience, and gaining upgrades to combat abilities, a Fable character also develops personally and morally. The most often used weapons become larger and more powerful in Fable III, and they change in appearance to match the way they are wielded, just as the character's physical appearance gradually changes, to reflect a lifetime progression of good and evil acts. <br><br>Choosing a gender and starting appearance, the player takes the role of a young adventurer destined to overthrow a tyrant king. Following the earlier games in the series, the adventure is set on the continent of Albion, and begins several decades after the events of Fable II. The first part of Fable III follows the young hero through a succession of quests that lead to an ultimate confrontation with the cruel King Logan. For the second part of the game, the hero becomes ruler of Albion, whose civic decisions influence the attributes and appearances of city streets and countryside throughout the realm. Be it through compassion, justice, or fear, the player's rule of Albion is eventually challenged by threats from a rival nation, and the sovereign must decide whether to prepare for war or seek a more peaceful resolution.<br><br>As well as creating the Fable series, developer Lionhead Studios has noteworthy experience applying the concepts of "good" and "evil" decisions to city-management sims, with Black & White and its sequel. Also reminiscent of earlier Lionhead games, the contextual user interface in Fable III strives to present an uncluttered view of the game world, free of menu bars and other statistical distractions. Actor John Cleese gives voice to Jasper, an in-game butler and regular companion who offers advice and assists the player's hero with game-management tasks. Other celebrated British actors performing voice work for the game include Ben Kingsley and Jonathan Ross, with Zoë Wanamaker reprising her role of Theresa.

    It's addictive!

    I received this game as a gift for Christmas and I found I was attached to it for 4 days straight. I had to pry myself away from it to get my work done, and continually have to fight the urge to play it. The game is a great sequel to Fable and Fable II. Although there are some things I would change if I could, it definitely is entertaining and fun to play. As a Fable fan, I was able to pick up on most things quickly, though I expect new players may have some difficulty in understanding the story line and such. Glitches! There are always glitches and Fable II had lots, most of which were graphic-related and hilarious to watch. Fable III so far has mostly had functionality glitches, with some kind of annoying graphical ones... I've found that sometimes the golden trail to follow doesn't ...

    A True Sequel to the Greatness of the Original

    I was very skeptical about this game because the Fable II was such an enormous let down for me. I was in love with the first game and had great expectations in place for its immediate sequel. That was not a mistake I was going to make twice. With Fable III I was pleasantly surprised - amazed even! The things that were lacking in the previous game are all golden here. Namely, the story! The story of a young prince becoming a hero to overthrow the tyrant king is a well paced and endearing one. However, that is only the first half of the game. Once you become the ruler of Albion the fate of your kingdom is in more jeopardy than you originally knew. Now you have to make important decisions that will decide how many of your people will survive the impending doom, but your decisions may ...

    Entertaining, but kind of outdated.

    Being an older game, the graphics are OK, the gameplay is slow, cheesy, and really not very exciting. It is, however entertaining. I bought it to enter the world of RPG play. It has worked well for that.

    FABLE III REVIEW

    I give it a 9.2 out of 10 - some cool mixed elements!! IT'S LIKE SIMS VS GOD OF WAR IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE lol the game is a ltl glitchy and graphics could of been improved but none the less the game is huge and there is sooooooooo much to do.. I suppose thats why graphics were cut down to make up for the long ass gameplay........... some of the scenery is however beautiful and the fact that you can pick ur wife and take her to your room for unprotected sex helps aswell lol..........never played a game on xbox with quite so much manual play other than sims but overall awesome exp LOTS OF UPGRADES/GOLD/JEWELRY/STEALING/SEX/DRINKING/KILLING/ACTIONS YOU DO CHANGE GAME/LOADS OF WEAPONS/WIZARDRY GAUNTLETS/BAKING/BLACKSMITH/STORE VENDING/BUY/RESELL/RENT HOUSES/HAVE KIDS/TRAIN ...

    Very good game, fun for fans of the series

    Short review. Very entertaining game, with a fair amount of replayability. Easy to get caught up playing this game for hours on end. Experience is based on earning guild seals in this game. The concept is good, and generally works well, however it is tedious to earn enough to unlock all abilities. I found that it was a pain to interact with nearly every villager in the game just to be able to unlock every ability. The combat system is fun at first, but many times when you perform a flourish attack during a fight, it sends the camera into a locked view and goes into slow motion. This is very cool the first few times, but when you're in a big fight and surrounded by bad guys, you just want the thing to stop doing it. It's annoying, and you can't see what you're doing. It makes it hard to ...
